Healesville High School
Ion Whykes Theatre
This state-of-the-art, purpose built 250 seat Performing Arts Centre is a showpiece at our school. Constructed in 2012, it is named in honour of the school's longest-serving former principal, Mr. Ion Whykes.

Healesville High School has a long and proud tradition of producing full scale, large chorus productions which take to the stage every August. Some past shows include: Oliver, Peter Pan, Back to the 80s and Grease.

After many successful shows and a clear passion for the performing arts, the Ion Whykes Theatre was constructed. The theatre has been the home of countless school productions, music concerts, performances, lectures and presentation nights.
Past shows include: The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Hairspray, Alice in Wonderland, Legally Blonde, Little Shop of Horrors, Rock of Ages, The Wedding Singer and School of Rock.

The Ion Whykes Theatre is also the home of the Healesville High School Instrumental Music Program. Bands include Rookie Band, Rising Stars, Legends' Band, Talbot Room Ensemble and various other small ensembles. The theatre hosts many instrumental music concerts and performances throughout the year.
