School Council

What is School Council?
School Council is the representative body responsible for the educational and financial policies of the school. Healesville High School and its school council is a partnership of
parents/guardians, students, staff and community representatives.


What are the duties of School Council?
Specifically, Council is responsible for formulating and reviewing school policies, but it also considers many of the day to day issues relating to school organisation and student and staff welfare.

How is Council structured?
School Counil has a number of sub-committees, each with a specific responsibility. Those include:

Curriculum
Facilities / Occupational Health and Safety
Finance
Community Links
Uniform

Sub-committees allow issues and needs to be discussed and investigated deeply. Each sub-committee reports to council for approval of recommendations and action.

Membership of sub-committees is not limited to School Council members,, interested individuals and those with particular skills and knowledge are invited to join various sub-committees.
