Accountability and School Improvement
The School Accountability and Improvement Framework,
introduced in March 2005, articulates three outcomes that government
schools strive to achieve; that is, improved student learning, enhanced
student engagement and wellbeing, and successful transitions and
pathways.
The School Strategic Plan sets out the
school's strategic directions for the next four years, including the
school's purpose, values and environmental context, as well as goals,
targets and key improvement strategies in three student outcome areas:
Student Learning
Student pathways and transitions
Student engagement and wellbeing.
The Annual Implementation Plan describes how the key improvement
strategies in the school strategic plan (or school charter) and other
significant projects will be put into operation in each of the four
years of the School Strategic Plan.
Annual implementation planning assists schools to:
plan and communicate their work for the coming year and how this will
lead to achieving the goals and targets in the school strategic plan;
ensure efficient and effective allocation of resources to complete the work;monitor progress and success.
The Annual Report informs parents and the wider school community of the school's successes, activities and achievements throughout the year. The report also provides an opportunity to communicate and publicise the longer term directions for the school. Annual reporting is an important tool for effective governance within schools and the government school system.
